I'm a Brooklyn and Los Angeles based Cinematographer. A bit about myself:
I was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Seattle. Photography enthusiast from a young age, leading to a degree in Studio Art from Wesleyan University, sharing studies with philosophy. Side work in college as a theater carpenter led to set designing a number of plays and operas, which introduced me to film directors and my first work as a Cinematographer. Went on to MFA Film studies at NYU Tisch.
I've since enjoyed working on a broad and diverse set of films, commercials, and music videos. I take pride in my ability to collaborate closely with directors and designers to create imagery that is appropriate to each individual project's vision, while still pushing the boundaries of compelling narrative storytelling. Stay with a smile and some jokes, also, because movies aren't the world.
Happy to have been involved in award-winning films at a number of international festivals, including Sundance, Tribeca and SXSW, and have been featured in American Cinematographer and Cinefex magazine, among others.
Outside of work? Avid reader, growing tennis player and pianist, love the outdoors, and a pretty good cook. Married to a brilliant production designer, and we love to make beautiful things together.
Would love to speak to you about upcoming projects, thanks for taking a look at my work.
